My bedroom is not that big. If you're standing at the doorway, you can see to the immediate right is my overflowing almari. Next to it is the bathroom door, and adjacent to the bathroom door is my bed. Next to the bed is my also overflowing side table, full with stuff that I feel I might need while I was sleeping and don't feel like getting up. Opposite the doorway is my makeup area with the usual surface (makeshifted from an unused shelf) and mirror. And finally on the left side of the doorway, there is a row of clothes that belongs to myself and Wanek.
I have lived like that since December when Wanek moved in.
So my mom came to town last weekend since Friday and I have been back and forth from Shah Alam to KD, where my brother is currently living. I barely see any of my friends from Friday up until Tuesday (except for Baity who lived in KD and I went to borrow some stuff from her condo), and I barely spend time at home except for coming home to sleep.
So after my mom went back yesterday, later in the evening I came back to my apartment, and went into my room, exhausted. I lay on the bed for a while and noticed something weird in my room.
Wanek's row of clothes is missing.
The only thing left in that side of the room is my row of clothes and Caa's green luggage. And it looked so empty that way. Like there is a HUGE GAPING HOLE right smack in the middle of my row of clothes and the makeup surface. Deep down I know this day would come, the day when Wanek moves her stuff out of our apartment. Heck, I even questioned (in my head) when Wanek moves all her things out, what furniture am I gonna buy to fill our apartment up.
But when it finally happened, I died a little inside.
I texted her, "It feels like you're breaking up with me," and regretted sending that text in fear of sounding too melodramatic.
Imagine how sappy I'll get when it's Aroh's time to get married.
**Aroh has been living with me since 2004. That's 7 years of putting up with my shit. That's a lot.
p/s: I am writing this with Yesterday by John Lennon as the background song. How apt.
